The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Preservation Society has run heritage steam and diesel trains for over 50 years. The charity aims to preserve, maintain and operate the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway as a working museum of railway history for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations. The charity’s wholly-owned subsidiary, the Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway Limited, is the organisation’s operating and commercial company.

Alongside our 700 volunteers, the Railway’s operating company, the Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway Limited, employs a small team of paid staff to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of our services and events.

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway is looking for enthusiastic catering assistants to boost our team. 

This team works alongside volunteers to cover a wide range of activities in our buffets, cafes, and on board the trains. Customer service is key to ensuring that KWVR’s visitors have the best experience possible.

The KWVR is a busy and interesting place to work, with every day presenting a new challenge. This role requires someone who is hardworking, a fast learner, and comfortable working flexibly.

Two roles at 24 hours per week and two roles at 16 hours per week

Signal Engineer

The railway seeks an enthusiastic volunteer with a keen interest in railway signalling to undertake the duties of the railway’s Signal Engineer, responsible for the continuing safety and availability of the railway’s signalling systems.

oakworth tea hut

Volunteering at the little Tea Hut at Oakworth Station will include making & serving hot drinks, dishing up tasty Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream and keeping visitors to the railway fuelled throughout the day.

The Tea Hut is open from 10 am to 4 pm every weekend & running days during the Spring and Summer months, and we are looking to reopen at the start of March.
