The Tea Hut

Tucked just behind the charming Oakworth Station – made famous by The Railway Children – you’ll find the delightfully restored Oakworth Tea Hut.

A hidden gem away from the railway’s bustle, the Tea Hut offers a peaceful spot to relax with outdoor seating and beautiful surroundings. Enjoy hand-scooped local ice creams, freshly ground coffee, and of course, a fine selection of teas and soft drinks.

The Old Parcels Office

Perched above Keighley Station on the bridge between Platforms 3 and 4, The Old Parcels Office is the ideal spot to refuel and unwind between trains.

Open daily from (19th July to 31st August) 9am to 5pm, it serves everything from hearty full English breakfasts and bar meals to light bites, sweet treats, and freshly baked pastries. Whether you’re after a classic cappuccino from our skilled baristas, a pot of fine tea, or something stronger – including hand-pulled real ales, bottled lagers, wines, and spirits – The Old Parcels Office offers a welcome break with a view of the heritage action below.

The Tea Room

Step aboard a slice of railway history at Oxenhope Station, where the Tea Room is housed in a beautifully preserved vintage carriage – once a regular on Britain’s mainline routes.

Now stationary but full of charm, this unique setting serves top-quality tea, freshly brewed coffee, and a range of soft drinks. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something for the journey, you’ll find a delicious selection of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, hot pies, cakes, and local confectionery on offer.

Bahamas Locomotive Society

The Engine Shed is an accredited museum that houses numerous displays and artefacts from the age of Steam.  Throughout the museum, you can follow a route to guide you through the exhibits and memorabilia to experience how railways used to be. The path will help you understand the history of the railways, the steam locomotive, and the lives of the people who built, operated and maintained them. There are several display cabinets for you to browse so you can take your time and gain a real insight into how things used to be.

Vintage Carriages Trust

The Carriage Works holds the Trust’s collection of nine historic railway carriages, three small industrial steam locomotives, a 1950s diesel railbus and a group of railway posters and other miscellaneous railway items.

The Museum of Rail Travel is part of Rail Story and is open every day except Christmas Day. There is a small charge for entry to the museum, but it is free to passengers on the railway who hold a Day Rover ticket.

The Keighley & Worth Valley is unique because most of our trains convey a real-ale buffet car, serving real-ale from traditional hand pumps. The buffet car also serves tea, coffee and a wide selection of soft drinks & snacks – but it’s the real-ale that is the real treat for our passengers.

But how does a traditional beer barrel with sediment remain drinkable on a moving train? The beer is drawn from the cask before the journey into a specially made drum on the train, ensuring a perfect pint throughout the day. The Railway uses local breweries, and on selected weekends, there can be up to three real-ales on board – we usually try to have two at least!

OPENING TIMES

You can check on the timetable to see when the On-Train bar is conveyed by looking for the coffee cup symbol in the notes section.
