The Yorkshire Day Civic Celebration has occurred every year since 1985 on 1 August. Each year The Yorkshire Society appoints a town or city to organise a special civic celebration. In 2022 the event was held in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

The Yorkshire Society organised the celebrations. The civic leaders, including mayors and lord mayors, joined by 50 Yorkshire Society members, began the celebrations day with a journey to Keighley from Oxenhope Station en-route they enjoyed a continental breakfast served by our stewards. The train was hauled by LMS 41241 ‘Ivatt’ carrying a unique headboard for Yorkshire Day.

The Stewards did a tremendous job preparing the guests’ carriages and serving breakfast, led by Chief Steward Steve Tipton. As the private charter travelled to Keighley, the guests were served Fruit Pot with Yoghurt, Cinamon rolls, Pain au Chocolat and Croissants, with Fresh Orange Juice and Tea or Coffee.

A great way to start the day, and prepare them for the Yorkshire Day Parade through Keighley Town Centre.

If you are interested in holding a special event, please look at the Private Hire section for more information.
