‘Back in Steam' – Prices & Tickets

Dates and Times

During the current ‘Back in Steam’ Specials were are taking bookings for Saturday and Sunday right through to 22nd November and school half term 26th – 30th October. Passenger may only join the train at either Oxenhope or Keighley for a full round trip of the line.

Alternatively we are offering a Day Ticket that allows the holder to have a compartment all day allowing you to alight and re-join at Ingrow West or Haworth.

During this time of social distancing, we are using our compartment stock, seating up to SIX people and, for the duration of your journey, passengers will have the compartment for their family bubble and will not be sharing with any other passengers.

The Right Ticket For You

During the current ‘Return to Steam’ programme trains are operating between Oxenhope and Keighley only and holders of a Return Ticket are not able to alight from the train at stops between our two terminus stations. Full Line Return ticket is available, to purchase on the day from the ticket office at any of our stations.

However on the purchase of a Day Ticket you can explore the Worth Valley and have a compartment for the whole day reserved for you and your party. Join at Oxenhope for the 10.00 departure and have the freedom to leave the train and rejoin at your leisure throughout the day. Trains will stop for Day Ticket holders at Haworth and Ingrow West.

Day Ticket

Holders of a Day Ticket will be able to leave and rejoin the train at Haworth, to visit Haworth village, and then continue later on to Ingrow (West) Station where there are two awarding winning museums for you to explore (admission prices apply). And all in your very own reserved compartment, which will not be used by any other passengers when you are not travelling on the train.

Purchasing your ticket

Tickets must be booked online in advance. Please click on your preferred station on the booking page before selecting your date and time.

Up to two children aged three and under are free per compartment. All children aged four and over will need to be counted in the number of passengers.

A maximum of two dogs per compartment are welcome to travel for £1 each. Only assistance dogs will be carried when our vintage coaches are in operation on your train.




The Railway is pleased to welcome all dogs and their owners onto our normal timetabled trains, subject to their owners ensuring that their dogs do not cause a distraction to the operation of the train or inconvenience and difficulties to fellow passengers. In addition dogs are not allowed onto carriage seats.

In the opinion of the Station Master or Guard, if a dog is not in the control of its owner and is causing problems, the Station Master or Guard may, at their discretion, request the dog be taken away from the Railway’s premises or removed from the train at the next available station or be cared for by its owner in a more appropriate area away from other passengers.

However, dogs are NOT allowed in carriages where food is being served, for example the Pullman Dining Experience dining train

We recognise that Assistance Dogs provide valuable help, not only for the sight impaired, but also for those with hearing loss, epilepsy, diabetes, physical mobility problems and more. Assistance Dogs are welcome on ALL KWVR trains, for which no charge is made.
