The Gin Train
2024 sees the return of the Gin Train to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
Chinking, clinking and serving some of the most delicious Gins and other spirits by the Award Winning sustainable Isle of Wight Distillery ‘Mermaid’
In collaboration with Kathryn Thornton (The Burnt Bear) & team, this fantastic event is back with gusto and will be better than ever, and we can’t wait to welcome you onboard!
Experience the vintage steam train whilst tasting a carefully matched set of Gin and tonics from UK favourite distiller Mermaid Gin.
Your ticket includes unlimited access to the KWVR for the day alongside a slot on our Gin Train train.

- On Board, the team from Mermaid Gin will enlighten you with the fascinating story of the company from beginning to end, from how they forage from the sea by hand to the end product filled with an array of botanical magic.
- The history of gin production will be explained, from monks to the modern day, and the story of the distiller will be told.
- You’ll be served four Gins with carefully selected mixers & correct garnishes during your two-round trips on The Gin Train.
- You will also be offered delicious canapes and opportunities to purchase other gins or varied drinks from our at-seat menu.

MERMAID GIN
Hand-crafted on the Isle of Wight since 2014 using ten ethically sourced botanicals, Mermaid Gin delivers a smooth yet complex blend of fresh organic lemon zest and peppery grains of paradise, with a hint of sea air from wild-foraged, fragrant rock samphire. A refreshing and invigorating serve for the free-spirited.

EVENT INFORMATION
Oxenhope Station
The Tea Room situated at the station will be open, serving hot & cold drinks and sandwiches, pies and sweet treats. The unique tearoom is the perfect viewing spot for trains arriving & departing into the station while looking out over the yard full of our historic carriages,
The On-Train Bar
While on the move, enjoy refreshments from the Restaurant Miniature Buffet Carriage, hauled by the steam service. You’ll be able to enjoy a pint of hand-pulled real ale, hot & cold drinks and snacks. Valid Local Resident Card Holders can enjoy a 10% discount.
Keighley Station
On the platform at Keighley Station, there is a well-stocked refreshment bar serving hot & cold drinks, sandwiches, pies and sweet treats.
The Gin Train
The first Gin Train departs Keighley Station at 12:30 at Keighley Station and takes two round trips, returning to Keighley Station at 15:40
The second Gin Train departs Oxenhope Station at 16:45, takes two round trips and returns to Oxenhope Station at 19:15.
The 18:15 departure from Oxenhope Station is only for Gin Train customers and not for other passengers.

- Two-round trips on The Gin Train with a knowledgeable gin expert.

This experience is for people aged 18+ only.
Dogs are not allowed on the Gin train, except for Assistance Dogs.
