PLACES TO VISIT
THE OLD PARCELS OFFICE
The Old Parcels Office, overlooking the tracks of Keighley Station from the bridge, its the railway’s recently refurbished venue for great food and drink in the centre of Keighley.
Open every RUNNING DAY, from 09.00 until 17.00 and 22.00 on Friday & Saturday.
Our days start with hearty breakfasts and freshly ground coffee, and from lunchtime, you can enjoy a wider selection of dishes prepared with local ingredients to suit every appetite.
Take time out between trains and enjoy a proper Yorkshire brew with Taylors of Harrogate and Yorkshire Teas, or take something a bit stronger, like one of our house cocktails made with the best spirits and liqueurs. Families can relax as kids are well catered for with their menu packed with favourites, healthy and tasty.
The Old Parcels Office serves meals all day accompanied by hand-pulled real ale, a choice of real bottled beers, quality lagers, and ciders that will quench your thirst and keep you fuelled up to visit the railway’s museums and historic stations.
VINTAGE CARRIAGES TRUST
The Carriage Works holds the Trust’s collection of nine historic railway carriages, three small industrial steam locomotives, a 1950s diesel railbus and a group of railway posters and other miscellaneous railway items.
The Museum of Rail Travel is part of Rail Story at Ingrow West and is open every day except Christmas Day. There is a small charge for entry to the museum, but it is free to passengers on the railway who hold a Day Rover ticket.
OXENHOPE TEA ROOM
Back in 1982, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway introduced a charming tearoom, adding to the railway’s ambience. Step into a piece of history as you dine in a beautifully restored railway carriage that once traversed Britain’s mainline railway network. Indulge in a variety of refreshments including premium tea, coffee, and soft drinks. Treat yourself to a selection of sandwiches, pies, cakes, and biscuits, all served with a touch of nostalgia.
THE EXHIBITION SHED
While locomotives are waiting for their place in the restoration queue, they are kept in our Exhibition Shed so that you can get a close-up view of these engineering marvels. Access to the Exhibition Shed is free of charge and is an excellent experience for all families.
BAHAMAS LOCOMOTIVE SOCIETY
Explore the Engine Shed, an accredited museum showcasing an array of displays and artefacts from the era of steam. Follow a designated route through the museum, guiding you through captivating exhibits and memorabilia, offering a glimpse into the bygone days of railways. Delve into the rich history of railroads, steam locomotives, and the individuals integral to their construction, operation, and maintenance. Browse numerous display cabinets at your leisure, allowing you to understand the past.
