PLACES TO VISIT
VINTAGE CARRIAGES TRUST

Step into the Carriage Works Museum and immerse yourself in one of the country’s finest collections of restored railway carriages. The exhibits span from 1876 to 1950, showcasing the evolution of railway travel, from the opulence of the Victorian era to the practical designs of the mid-20th century.
Discover the luxury that First Class passengers enjoyed during the height of the Victorian era, and trace the changes in carriage design that reflect the social and technological shifts of the times.
THE WATER TOWER

While waiting for your train, you can visit the new Visitor Centre at the end of Platform 4 and step back into the railway’s history. View images and footage from the railway’s archive through the years, starting with The Midland Railway, followed by British Railway and the early days of the Keighley & Worth Valley Preservation Society.
Take part in our interactive display, learn about the tower’s function, what the water above you is used for, and help fill the locomotives inside the Water Tower.
THE OLD PARCELS OFFICE

Located at Keighley Station, The Old Parcels Office is more than just a window into the past – it’s a welcoming spot to relax and refuel on your journey through the Worth Valley. Once a vital hub for goods and luggage, the beautifully restored building now serves as a unique space where railway heritage meets great food and drink.
Enjoy a selection of locally sourced snacks, light bites, and refreshments in a charming setting steeped in history. Whether you’re grabbing a hot drink before boarding or unwinding after a scenic ride, The Old Parcels Office offers the perfect blend of nostalgia and comfort.
BAHAMAS LOCOMOTIVE SOCIETY

The Engine Shed is more than just a museum; it’s a place where the mechanical meets the magical. Our exhibition delves deep into the workings of steam locomotives, from their intricate engineering to the skilled hands that brought them to life. You’ll discover the meticulous process of building a steam engine—from the initial designs on the drawing board to the hands-on craftsmanship in the workshop.
The exhibition also explores the enduring fascination with steam locomotives, a passion shared by generations of children and adults alike, whether through playing with model railways or watching the real thing in action.
