A Christmas Carol

Join us in the 2025 Winter season for the return of our
immersive ‘A Christmas Carol’ railway theatrical experience.

DATES: 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 20th & 23rd December // PRICE: £35 Adult aged 16+ // £30 £30 per child (15 and under)

A Christmas Carol is one of the nation’s most beloved Christmas stories;

You’ll navigate an authentic Victorian street to find us in Scrooge’s office on Christmas Eve, where the miserly Mister is counting his pennies. After dismissing the warm-hearted Cratchits and refusing to participate in Christmas cheer, you’ll be at the very centre of the action as the ghostly Marley arrives to warn Scrooge about the errors of his ways.

Scrooge, uncaring, falls asleep and then the true wonder begins: from out of the steam, a familiar sound … a mystic train arrives, ready to take Scrooge – and you – on a spell-binding and transcendent journey through Past, Present, and Future.

Scrooge won’t be the same when he returns — and perhaps you won’t be either.

Combining the beautiful surroundings and experience of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway with prestige theatre, including highly-trained performers and an acclaimed production team, this experience has been tailored for you and your family this Christmas.

1. Arrival

  • From Haworth: Begin your adventure with a short train ride to Oxenhope Station, where the magic awaits.
  • From Oxenhope: Simply park in one of the station car parks and step into the experience.

2. Step Inside the Exhibition Shed
The scene is set as soon as you enter. Grab a hot sandwich, enjoy a drink from the bar, or pick up a snack before the performance begins.

3. The Story Begins
The immersive show comes to life in the atmospheric Exhibition Shed. With performances on a raised stage, you will be standing for this part of the show. There is no formal seating; limited seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who need it.

4. All Aboard!
After 15–20 minutes, the story continues as you board the train at Oxenhope. Steam through the Worth Valley on a full round-trip to Keighley and back (approx. 1 hour), with drama unfolding along the way. Seating on the train is allocated at the time of booking.

5. The Final Act
On returning to Oxenhope Station, head back into the Exhibition Shed for the thrilling conclusion — a final chapter lasting 10–15 minutes.

6. Departure

Oxenhope guests: Make your way home at your leisure from the station car park.

Haworth guests: Board your return train to Haworth Station.
