Suspension of Passenger Services
Temporary suspension of passenger services
We were very proud of all our efforts that meant that we were able to run a COVID-secure service during December, making full use of the fleet of compartment stock on the Railway, including our own ‘suburban’ Mark 1s as well as vehicles from the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Trust and the Vintage Carriages Trust.
However, with the country now in lockdown and the Government now restricting all but essential travel, services on the KWVR are suspended but we hope to recommence operations in time for the February half term if restrictions are lifted to allow us to do so.
Sadly, we understand that this means that we join other heritage railways in suspending operations for the third time in recent months, but the safety and well being of our volunteers and passengers will always come first.
We thank you for your understanding and for all your support.

2021 has started and we find ourselves still in the grip of COVID-19. Plans for family, dining and enthusiast events in 2021 continue to be developed but with so much uncertainty our confirmed programme stretches to just two events that you can see below. We are keeping the year under constant review and will announce future events as and when they are finalised and we are confident that they will take place. Keep a lookout on the website and Social Media.
At Easter we will be having an Alice in Wonderland experience. Ticket prices, timetables and bookings are being finalised with everything finalised shortly.
