We welcome dogs at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway!

Assistance, access, and service dogs are welcome on all KWVR trains, including our dining trains, at no charge.

To ensure we can provide the best accommodation for your dog, please notify us in advance so we can reserve an appropriate seat or space. For events with elevated noise levels, such as the Beer & Music Festival, we recommend bringing hearing protection for your assistance dog. We deeply value these dogs’ essential support to individuals with visual or hearing impairments, epilepsy, diabetes, mobility challenges, and other conditions. Our staff are always available to assist with any arrangements or concerns during your visit.

For more details on our Dog-Friendly policy or to let us know about an upcoming visit with an assistance dog, contact our Customer Service team at Haworth Station, email admin@kwvr.co.uk, or call 01535 645214 between 09:30 and 16:00 (7 days a week, excluding Christmas Day).

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on our regular timetabled trains, provided they do not disturb or inconvenience other passengers. Please note that dogs are not permitted on carriage seats.

In the opinion of the Station Master or Guard, if a dog is not in the control of its owner and is causing problems, the Station Master or Guard may, at their discretion, request the dog be taken away from the Railway’s premises or removed from the train at the next available station or be cared for by its owner in a more appropriate area away from other passengers.

All dogs travel free of charge.

Well-behaved dogs are allowed at the following events, provided they are on a lead and always kept under appropriate control. Dog owners are fully responsible for their animals and must clean up after their pets.

  • Starlight Express
  • Festive Flyer

Exceptions apply to certain events where food is served or where there may be loud music, such as:

  • The Gin Train
  • Dining Trains (including Modern, Classic, Italian, and Ploughman’s)
  • Haworth Haddock
  • The Vintage Treat
  • Elf Explorer

  • Beer and Music – Dogs are prohibited from the Exhibition Shed at Oxenhope and The Marquee at Ingrow-West on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday due to their busy and loud nature.  (Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the event and on our trains on Thursday but bear in mind the event can get jam-packed and some music can be very loud. Please consider your dog’s well-being and do not bring it along if crowds or loud music may distress it)

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in both The Old Parcels Office (Keighley) & Oxenhope Tea Room on the condition that they do not cause any obstruction or annoyance to other customers. They must also not be sat on any of the indoor seating or tables in these areas at any time.

  • Pullman Carriages (Anne & Mary)
  • Old Gentleman’s Saloon
