Bridge 27 Preparation

As progress continues both on and off the tracks for the upcoming renewal of Bridge 27 at Haworth, our partners at Cass Hayward have crafted these detailed 3D model images to offer a glimpse into the future appearance of the completed bridge.

Scheduled for September, the renewal will focus solely on the ‘Mainline’ Span of Bridge 27, which has reached the end of its service life. Conversely, the ‘Siding’ span underwent extensive refurbishment in the late 1970s and remains structurally sound for many years to come. With substantial preparatory work still ahead, we will conduct week-long processions of the railway over the summer months to ensure all necessary tasks are completed before the month-long bridge renewal.
