The Wildlife Photography Competition produced many superb shots, with over 50 entries, showcasing the wide variety of wildlife that lives along our railway.
Entries closed at the end of May, and we were delighted that Mike Simmonds, the Telegraph and Argus Newspaper photographer, agreed to be the final competition judge. He picked the winning entries from a top ten shortlist compiled by the environmental group at their June meeting, and the winner is John Tickner! His photograph of the Frog at dusk at Damems Station was Mike’s choice, the second was Terry Hanson with the inquisitive deer at Vale Mill Lane Cottages, and the third was Barrie Woodward’s photo of the fence post robin at Ingrow West.
The humble frog won, pitted against much more glamorous opposition.
Congratulations to the winning entrants!
1st Place – John Tickner
2nd Place – Terry Hanson
3rd Place – Barrie Woodward
