The Santa Steam Special season got off to a wonderful sunny, clear day with 5820 and 25 059 performing well throughout the day. This weekend the steam power will be provided by 90733 on Saturday and 5820 on Sunday with 25 059 at the Keighley end. The class 101 DMU will be operating on the diesel turn.
If you are not travelling on one of our Santa Steam Specials, then you can still have fun on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, as on Sunday 4th December we are having a special fun day at Rail Story, Ingrow West Station.
Father Christmas arrives in the Worth Valley this weekend with packed trains of adults and happy little children. A steam locomotives will be attached at the Oxenhope end of the train with a mainline diesel at the north end. This weekend will see steam in the shape of 5820 and the diesel will be fresh from overhaul 25 059. Our class 101 diesel multiple unit will be providing an additional journey to Santa ticket holders and a pay on the day passenger service other visitors.
This weekend 43924 is heading the steam service, the last weekend before the Santa Steam Specials start next weekend and run right through to Christmas Eve.

The ever popular and not to be missed Annual Carol Service aboard the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is being held again on Saturday, 17th December. Starting at Oxenhope at 19.00, the train travels the Valley with carols, readings and prayers at stations along the way.
If repairs are completed in time, 5820 will be at the head of the steam service this weekend.

First announcement for the Winter Steam Gala, 26th- 28th February 2016, is that KWVR's own 'Black 5', 45212, subject to completion of its overhaul by Ian Riley Engineering at Bury, will be a star attraction for this 3 day event.
