Elegance, Quality and Style. . . …a journey aboard a Pullman dining train
The KWVR possess two 1930 Pullman parlour cars, Ann & Mary, from a time when travelling and dining on a train meant travelling in style and opulence and you were served by immaculately dressed stewards who had the highest standards of presentation and efficiency.
In 2020, the KWVR are turning the clock back to those halcyon days, when our recreation of Pullman Dining hits the rails. Sticking to those Pullman traditions our stewards will be in full uniform and passengers will be able to enjoy a 1930’s style of first class dining. .
Volunteering to be a KWVR Steward
We need your help!
In order for us to run this fantastic new service we will need some new volunteers. We need people who are interested in a customer service role, have bags of enthusiasm and don’t mind dressing up in the period smart attire. You also need to be available at weekends for this role and potentially some evenings. Ideally we would like you to volunteer for at least four of the dining trains over the spring and summer period.
If you’ve had experience in a similar role before then that is fantastic, but not essential. We will provide training and guidance to new recruits, making sure you are confident with what you are doing. The training will be both practical and also a level of basic railway knowledge to aid you with settling in. You’ll certainly get The opportunity to practice balancing plates whilst walking up and down a steam train on ‘clickety clack’ track, before doing it for real!
