Come and join our Railway this summer and become part of history…
We are looking for a wide range of roles that encompass various aspects of operations at Worth Valley.
Being a foreman is one of the most important jobs on the KWVR, this role leaves you in charge of the station you are assigned and the safety and service provided to customers from that station. An important aspect of your role is ensuring everyone boards and alights the train safely and involves communicating with the guard to dispatch the train.
As a booking clerk, you will be the point of call on the station for any enquiries from customers, you will sell tickets and provide the times of trains as well as assisting the station foreman. This role involves good communication and customer service skills as well as the need to be organised and confident when dealing with customers.
Crossing Keepers ensure that cars and people on the road are prevented from passing when the train is running through. This role keeps passengers on the train and people on the road safe. You will be in charge of operating the manual crossing gates and signalling to the train.
Another customer facing role is our Bar vacancy. Pulling pints and mixing drinks on a moving steam train is not something everyone can say they do! In this customer-focused role, you will run the on train bar and ensure everyone is suitably refreshed!
A similar role as booking clerks, except you will be on the train. You are the ‘Travelling Ticket Collect’ (TTC) and ensure everyone has a ticket onboard the train.

You will be regularly facing customers, taking orders, serving food and ensuring the area is clean and tidy. This candidate will work to high hygiene standards and be confident when dealing with customers.
Administration and Rostering staff work with both customers and our very special volunteers. Your role will involve answering the phone, dealing with customer enquiries and rostering volunteer shifts across the railway. Without this job, the railway can’t run!
You will be a bus conductor on our vintage bus that runs throughout the summer. Your role involves ticket collecting and selling, giving safety information and guidance to customers as well as assisting the driver when the bus is reversing.
When everyone has gone home, our heritage carriages need to be cleaned so that they are spic and span for everyone travelling the next day!
