British Railways Mark 1 Converted Open Corridor Buffet Coach

Converted from a standard open coach, this buffet car can regularly be seen on service trains servicing snacks and drinks, that includes real ale.

E4304 was a standard open coach, sold out of service for use as a restaurant at a public house near Leeds. When no longer required by the pub it was donated to the Railway by the brewery and converted into buffet car with a greater preparation area than the standard  buffet as built by BR. This enables a greater variety of food to be served whilst on the move. The coach can be seen on service trains, when the corridor coaching stock is being used.
