Fund Raising Hits New Heights

The ‘Worth Saving’ Appeal was launched to raise funds to combat the devastating effects of COVID-19, it’s aim to raise a minimum of £200,000. There’s a long way to go but we are delighted that we have reached a milestone with the half of the target reached today. Let’s keep the momentum going and keep the pressure up to reach the top.

We are so very grateful to our members and supporters for helping us to reach a fantastic fund-raising milestone as we have now received over £100k in donations in response to our emergency appeal to help the Railway survive the current period of closure. It is more than we have ever raised before in an appeal, and has been achieved in a matter of weeks: thank you! There is still more to do, because we need to raise at least £200k in order to fund the re-commencement of the work to replace the 115-year old Bridge 11, as well as replenish the funds expended during the closure that are urgently needed to support the restoration projects and maintenance that a 150 year old Railway requires.

Thank you again for all your contributions and for proving that you really do believe that the Railway is “Worth Saving”.
