Locomotive Roster for Haworth 1940s Weekend, 13th-15th May 2016 – Update

Locomotives built specifically for the war effort take centre stage for the Haworth 1940s Weekend when the village is transformed by crowds and bunting in celebration of the war years. War Department locomotive 90733 will feature on all 3 days but this year will be supported by 43924, 5820, our second wartime locomotive being stopped for essential repairs.

The role of the locomotives to haul the 1940s weekend, since the dedication ceremony at the 2014 Haworth 1940s Weekend, has been bestowed on the Railway's two wartime locomotives, WD 2-8-0 90733 and USATC S160 2-8-0 5820, as illustrated above. Unfortunately 5820 has had to be withdrawn for important repairs and, this year, therefore, 5820's place will be taken by MR 4F 0-6-0 43924

The Class 101 diesel multiple unit will operate the morning diesel service on Friday with the Class 37 locomotive 37 075 taking the service set on the diesel turns on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Whilst every effort will made to ensure that the advised motive power is available, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway reserve the right to change this when operational circumstances so dictate
