Locomotive Roster for the Weekend 7th & 8th January 2017

With the heavy trains of the Christmas festivities over, the larger locomotives take a back seat and this weekend sees the return of Taff Vale Railway no. 85 to the front line. Passenger services start at 09.00 on Saturday and 10.15 on Sunday.

Returning to action after resting whilst the larger locomotives took the strain with the heavy Santa Steam Specials, this weekend will see Taff Vale Railway 0-6-2T no. 85 on a 4 coach corridor steam service.

Also returning to the front after a long rest while the Class 101 operated the diesel services during the Santa Special weekends, is DRB M79964 which will operate the diesel turns throughout the weekend.

Please note that 2017 sees the introduction of a new Blue timetable with passenger services on Sunday commencing ex-Oxenhope at 10.15 and not 09.00 as previously. Unlike the old Blue timetable this will be a steam hauled departure with the Blue diesel service now commencing at 11.00. KWVR steam passenger services, therefore, start earlier than in past years. The Green timetable that operates on Saturday, remains unchanged with the first diesel service departing Oxenhope at 09.00.

Whilst every effort will made to ensure that the advised motive power is available, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway reserve the right to change this when operational circumstances so dictate.
