Weekend travel on the KWVR 26th November – 24th December

As well as the Santa Steam Specials, the Railway is running a Heritage Diesel Railcar service which is free to all holders of Santa Steam Special tickets but, on the purchase of a ticket to travel, is also available for any visitors wishing to take a trip on the Railway.

Santa Steam Special season is well under way, and bookings have been superb with all our trains full to capacity except for one or 2 seats here and there.

As well as the Specials, a special service of Heritage Diesel Trains, as shown above, will operate every weekend and the 23rd & 24th December, in addition to our popular Santa Special Steam Trains. Using one of our Diesel Multiple Units, built in the 1950’s, you can travel right at the front of the train enjoying a Driver’s eye view of the line.

The timetable affords plenty of opportunity to visit the various stations and the surrounding area. Why not alight at Ingrow and visit the award-winning Museum of Rail Travel? Visit Oakworth station – delightfully restored and film location for the famous film “The Railway Children”. In winter months it is truly atmospheric, with gas lighting and coal fires. Or alight at Haworth and visit the attractive Main Street, a short walk from the station, with its many quaint shops and seasonal attractions.

You can do all this in one day with our frequent Heritage Diesel Train Service.

Local Residents can use this service to go shopping in Keighley and avoid the weekend shopping traffic. What’s more, Santa Special passengers travel free on this diesel train service on the same day as their Santa Special journey – giving you that extra time to explore the Railway before or after your Santa Special journey.
