2015 Winter Steam Gala

Event date: 27 February 2015 - 1 March 2015

Our Winter Steam Spectacular is perfect for everyone, whether old or young, big or small. Up to eight different steam locomotives in action, vintage carriages, goods trains, express trains … plus your chance to get up close and have a look on the footplate.

The Winter Steam Gala will see the Gala debut of British Railways Standard Class 4 No. 75078

Friday Evening and Sunday Morning Photographic Opportunities

We are offering specially photographic cameos during the event on both Friday Evening and Sunday Morning.

Friday Evening photo shoot

Evening Parcel Goods ‘up the line’. On the Friday evening we will be running a small demonstration goods train using MR 4F 43924. The night will start at Keighley where photographers will have approximately 20-25 minutes. The train will then travel to Ingrow, Haworth and Oxenhope, time permitting, with approximately 30 minutes at each station.
The train will be ‘short’ parcel goods.
Places will be limited. £25 per person (non refundable).

Sunday Morning ‘Mini Charter’

On Sunday morning we will be running SR West Country 34092 “Wells” and BR Standard 4 75078 in a “Pines Express” theme with our rake of BR MK1 Maroon coaches. The train will have full use of the line for 1 hour before the service starts and the opportunity to use the main locations around Oakworth, Mythomes and ‘the mound’ will be taken. In the event of a loco failure, 43924 will substitute for either loco, still giving us the Somerset & Dorset theme.
Places will be limited. £25 per person (non refundable).

NB: Sunday Charter. Participants will need to be mobile, as this will include exiting from the train at lineside locations.
NB: BR Standard 4 75078 is returning to traffic at this event and will be sporting unlined BR Black and ‘cycling lion’ crest. This livery will be carried until the locomotive is run in.

Book your place on either of the photo shoots by calling Haworth Station, 01535 645214, Monday to Friday only, 11.00 – 16.00, when our office is staffed by our admin team.
Payment by credit/debit card over the phone or cheques made payable to KWVR and sent to Winter Steam Gala, The Railway Station, Haworth, Keighley, BD22 8NJ – all monies non-refundable.
