Steam & Ale Trail 2016

Saturday - Monday, 28th - 30th May 2016

New for 2016, visit our Real Ale festival sites at every station along the railway.

The KWVR is not only a great way to travel but also a great place to sample real ale and 2016 sees the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway launch our new Steam and Ale Trail over the Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday 28th May until Monday 30th.

The new event is the result of the hugely popular Beer and Music Festival which takes place in October.  The Steam and Ale trail is a 5 mile long ale trail where you hop off at each station to enjoy a pint of fine Yorkshire ale from a selection of local breweries. With over 40 beers plus the brewery bars there will be dozens to choose from. Visit each station where each different brewery will be bringing their brewery bars where you can choose from their range of beers. We are proud to be working with Old Spot Brewery (Keighley Station), Goose eye Brewery (Haworth Station), Bridgehouse Brewery (Oakworth Station) and Timothy Taylors (Ingrow Station).

If you fancy coming along but you’re not an ale lover don’t panic we have the Real Cider Company attending each station where you can enjoy a pint of real cider or choose from the selection of bottled ciders. Try a bit of bootleg or some jungle juice, or maybe just a simple fruit cider. For those who don’t like drinking from a pint glass you can enjoy a glass of wine, available at all stations or visit Oakworth and sample our Railway Children themed cocktails!

Don’t forget about the on train bar, so if you fancy resting your weary feet, jump aboard, sit back and relax with a pint and watch the world go.  Then hop back off and continue along the ale trail.

When you start to feel peckish you will find a variety of catering available at Keighley, Ingrow, Haworth and Oxenhope. So have a break, fill your stomach and jump back on the train to the next bar.

You also have no excuse if the sun isn’t shining as you will find indoor seating at Ingrow and Oxenhope.
