Temporary suspension of passenger services
We were very proud of all our efforts that meant that we were able to run a COVID-secure service during December, making full use of the fleet of compartment stock on the Railway, including our own ‘suburban’ Mark 1s as well as vehicles from the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Trust and the Vintage Carriages Trust.
However, the country continues in lockdown and all but essential travel restricted. Services on the KWVR are suspended but, in line with the latest Government legislation, we hope to recommence operations in April if restrictions are lifted as outlined in the Roadmap to Recovery and allow us to do so.
We join other heritage railways in suspending operations for a third time, but the safety and well being of our volunteers and passengers continues to be our priority.
We thank you for your understanding and for all your support.
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
2021 has started and we find ourselves still in the grip of COVID-19. Plans for family, dining and enthusiast events in 2021 continue to be developed but with so much uncertainty our programme cannot, currently, be publicised. We are keeping the year under constant review and will announce future events as and when they are finalised and we are confident that they will take place. Keep a lookout on the website and Social Media.
