https://www.facebook.com/CopperDragonBrewery

Arguably one of the the north’s best Beer & Music Festivals and one of the KWVR’s biggest events was missing in 2020, but it’s back in 2021.

Thursday 14th October – Sunday 17th October

From Thursday 14th October through to Sunday 17th October, the Railway is transformed into a 5 mile beer Festival with bars at Oxenhope (every day), Ingrow (Friday to Sunday only) and Keighley (Friday & Saturday only). Our steam trains will also convey on-train bars from Friday to Sunday.

This popular event will be returning in October 2021 and we will again be tickling the taste buds with a wide selection of beers (mostly real ales) from all over the country to choose from. Cider and wine drinkers will also be able to have their thirst quenched with a wonderful selection of fine wines and ciders. For gin lovers we will also have a range of artisan gins available.

And of course, music in the Exhibition Hall at Oxenhope and in the marquee at Ingrow and the stage is set for another excellent Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Beer and Music Festival.

Lowdown on the Festival sites

Main Site - Oxenhope Exhibition Shed

Oxenhope Station in the Exhibition Hall

This is where the main Festival Bar will be with around 90 different cask conditioned ales, both local and from all around the country.

Brewery Bars

Alongside the main bar we are joined by 4 brewery bars.

A ‘Keg Wall’ bar provided by Kirkstall Brewery from Leeds, featuring their own and other selected brewers craft beers, cask conditioned ales from local brewers Bridgehouse and Goose Eye and from further afield, a mix of cask conditioned ales and craft keg beers provided by Brass Castle Brewery from Malton. We plan to have approximately 130 beers available at Oxenhope alone.

Something for everyone

However this Festival is not just for the beer drinkers out there, we have something for everyone. There will be a specialist Cider bar at Oxenhope stocking over 30 different ciders from all over the UK, including draught ciders on keg and some very drinkable fruit ciders.

And we don’t leave out wine or gin drinkers; there will be a wine & gin bar provided by Martinez Wines of Ilkley, selling a fine selection of their white, red and rose wines along with the odd bottle of prosecco and artisan gins!

Friday - Sunday at Ingrow

Brewery Bars at Ingrow

Something for everyone

Timothy Taylor’s Brewery

From Keighley, Timothy Taylor’s are sponsors of the ‘The Flying Landlord’ train and its on-train bar.

Timothy Taylor’s is an independent, family-owned brewery founded in Keighley, Yorkshire in 1858 by Timothy Taylor. In addition to brewing a range of ales the Company also operates a modest pub estate of 19 outlets.

Family members hold prominent positions on the Board of the Company and all shares are held (and according to our articles of association, must be held) by descendants of either Timothy Taylor or Sir Donald Horsfall (a Taylor family friend who invested in the brewery in the 1950’s, at a time when it faced crippling death duties). This both protects the company’s independence and ensures we take a long-term perspective.

Gintopia from Halifax, providers of the Gintopia Gin Bar at Ingrow.

In 2016, Helen along with the rest of the world was joining the gin revolution, which seemed to be revelling in new exotic tonics and garnishes – so much to taste, drink and choose from. However, the festival and show circuit just hadn’t caught up! Feeling very disappointed, at the poor choice (if any) of gin and tonics when visiting outdoor events and festivals, Helen along with her friends Carol and Angela decided to do something pro-active and looked at the idea of designing and building their very own mobile gin box.

And so, the story of Bo began. A beautiful horse box was bought and transformed to our bespoke design (and height!) in 2017, and the serious gin tastings followed suit…..
