For those not in the know, Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery in a setting inspired by industrialised western 19th century civilisation with participants wearing fashions inspired by artistic styles that the movement encapsulates.
Promoted by White Rose Yorkshire Steampunks, this is the 6th year such an event has been organised at the home of the Bronte Sisters and, of course, our very own Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
Once again there will be entertainment throughout the weekend with Music, Dancers, Entertainers, Burlesque Performers, Vintage Vehicles, Tea Duelling, Steampunk Traders, Fashion Show, Steampunk Masquerade Ball, and more. For the full programme of the weekend’s events, click HERE.
This year the event is dedicated to raising vital funds for Manorlands Hospice, a charity close to the heart of the KWVR.
This is a 3 day event, Friday 23rd November – Sunday 25th November, with KWVR passenger services operating on Saturday and Sunday.
A truly unusual and memorable experience for those not familiar with the movement.
