50 Years of the Campaign for Real Ale
CAMRA is one of the most successful consumer organisations across Europe. Founded by four real ale enthusiasts back in 1971, today we represent beer drinkers and pub-goers across the UK. Our vision is to have quality real ale, cider and perry and thriving pubs in every community.
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway was recognised as one of 50 individuals or groups that have contributed to the brewing and pub world, who have made a significant contribution to the achievement of the campaigning aims in the 50 years since CAMRA was founded.
The KWVR Real Ale success story had small beginnings, from two hand-pulled beers on the DMU Buffet Car, and the subsequent RMB’s, “Jubilee Bar”, ‘Fine Dining’ trains various events including the “Haworth Haddock”. Culminating in the “Real Ale & Live Music Festivals”, which have grown into a 5-mile long festival!
A success story that has been recognised by this CAMRA award and a fitting reward to all those volunteers who have contributed to that achievement over the years.
