‘Black 5’ 45212 returns to KWVR

45212 back on home soil

Currently on loan to Ian Riley Engineering at Bury, our LMS built ‘Black 5’ 4-6-0 45212 has returned for the winter to Haworth, where many enthusiasts will hope that it is seen on the branch hauling passenger trains in the not too distant future..

Having been stabled at Carnforth, the locomotive made the short journey over the Pennines, through Hellifield and Skipton arriving home on Wednesday, 16th December. The two photographs, courtesy of Matt Lowcock below show 45212 having left Network Rail metals passing through a deserted, but Christmas decorated, Keighley Station on its way up the Worth Valley.
