Every year the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway run Santa Specials. Join us for a journey behind one of our iconic steam locomotives for festive fun when Santa Clause travels along the Railway spreading goodwill all round.

As soon as you board our Santa Special, it feels like Christmas with specially decorated coaches and festive music to get you into the mood. You will be greeted by your steward, who will check your tickets and show you to your seat.

Footplate Experience 2020

It’s everyone’s dream to drive & fire a steam engine. Make a dream come true on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

You can now drive and fire a steam locomotive right here on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. These courses are proving hugely popular, with customers praising our friendly and informal approach.

The KWVR offers you the opportunity to drive a steam train on the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and experience the thrill of being in control of a locomotive doing what it was designed to do, hard at work on the stiff gradients of the country’s only complete heritage branch line.

Santa Steam Specials – Limited Availability

Every year the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway run Santa Specials and tickets sell out fast.

As well as Christmas Eve which is now fully sold out, some other trains are now fully booked and have been removed from our online booking system. Those which have at least 1 pair of seats (i.e. 2 seats side by side) are still showing.

However some that are fully booked may have some single seats remaining, ideal for a single adult with a young toddler up to 36 months old and sat on their lap. Older children cannot be accommodated when travelling on an adult’s lap. Follow the link below.

Carol Service Train

Saturday 14th December
The ever popular and not to be missed Annual Carol Service aboard the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is being held again in 2019. Starting at Oxenhope, the train travels the Valley with carols, readings and prayers at stations along the way. Book your ticket NOW as seats on the train sell fast.

Winter Services

November, January & February Steam & Diesel Passenger Services
Throughout November 2019 and January and February 2020, until half term, here at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway we operate steam and diesel railcar services every weekend throughout the winter months, come rain or shine, come snow, frost and cold winter rains.

The Railway Children 50th Anniversary

Having celebrated the Railway’s 50th Anniversary in 2018, we now move forward to 2020 when this year marks the 50th Anniversary of the release of the film that brought the KWVR onto the world stage – The Railway Children. Ingrow Bridge Appeal

We need your help to the finance the replacement of Bridge 11.
The railway is now over 150 years old and as you would expect, some of the Railway’s structures are succumbing to the passage of time. One such is Bridge 11, the first bridge your train crosses after leaving Ingrow Tunnel.

Here at Keighley & Worth Valley Railway we have a range of beautiful vintage carriages that could be perfect for your special event, so we may well just have what you’re looking for and with something a little bit different from your normal venue.

We can arrange for the these coaches to be attached to any service train, subject to availability, and it will be yours for your exclusive use. We will also, if required, provide catering to make that special day complete.
