This is a very late post of the locomotive for this weekend's steam service as the guys in Haworth Locomotive works have been burning the midnight oil and it has been debatable which engine will be out this weekend. With an original choice of 44871 or 43924, the choice has finally fallen to BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 75078, making a welcome return to traffic after a few months on the sidelines where remedial work has been taking place to bring it back to good health.
The diesel service will be in the capable hands of our 1958 vintage railbus M79964, well worth taking a journey in this vehicle which celebrates its 60th birthday this year. In addition the mid-week diesel railcar service returns on Wednesday,, when M79964 will again be in action
First train departs Oxenhope (diesel railcar) at 09.00 with 75078 operating from 11.00 and on Sunday, the first passenger service is steam hauled at 10.15, working a two train service with the diesel railbus.
