Surrounding the Valley and the villages that make up the local community is the vast expanse of the rugged and spectacular Pennine scenery made famous in the Brontë sisters’ books.
On the moors above Haworth there is Penistone Hill Country Park, accessible by foot from Haworth Main Street. From there it is possible to walk to the Brontë Waterfalls and further on, Top Withens, one of the most iconic locations within the area. Situated on the top of the windswept moorland this ruined farmhouse is believed to be the inspiration for the Earnshaw family house in Wuthering Heights.
